What if the technology you thought was out of reach was already at your fingertips—ready to simplify your work, spark creativity, and fuel new ideas?
That’s exactly what happened on December 3, 2024, when I led a hands-on AI workshop at William Paterson University’s Cotsakos College of Business. It wasn’t just another tech seminar. Students, faculty, and small business owners didn’t just learn about AI—they experienced how it could reshape their work in real time.
I’ve always believed that the best way to understand AI is to use it. So, instead of giving a lecture, I designed a workshop where we rolled up our sleeves and got creative using real-world AI tools.
Here’s what we explored:
Watching people try, experiment, and see real results during the session was the best part. You could feel the energy shift as they realized just how much AI could simplify their tasks.
This workshop wouldn’t have been the same without the help of my amazing team: Rasheeda Frazier, Jessica Marie, and Tonya Edmonds. Their expertise, patience, and positivity were game-changers.
They worked alongside participants, answering questions, troubleshooting tech hiccups, and guiding small-group projects. The room didn’t feel like a typical classroom—it felt like a collaborative tech lab where everyone was learning, sharing, and building something meaningful together.
One of my favorite moments from the workshop was watching people transform. Many came in curious but unsure how AI could fit into their lives or businesses. By the time we wrapped up, they were all in.
Students couldn’t wait to apply AI to class projects and research. Small business owners saw how AI could save them time, streamline operations, and boost productivity.
One business owner shared, “I never thought AI could fit into what I do, but now I see how it can help me work smarter and faster.” That kind of transformation is exactly what fuels my passion for teaching. AI isn’t just for tech experts—it’s for anyone willing to learn.
I can’t talk about this workshop without giving a huge shoutout to William Paterson University. They’re not just preparing students for a tech-driven future—they’re leading the way by providing real-world learning experiences.
This workshop wasn’t just about introducing cutting-edge tools—it was about empowering students, faculty, and local business owners to take action. Seeing an institution so dedicated to creating opportunities like this was beyond inspiring.
As I shared with the group: “It’s one thing to talk about technology; it’s another to live it by giving people hands-on experiences that change how they work, learn, and grow.”
The workshop may be over, but the journey with AI is just getting started. Whether you’re curious about exploring AI or ready to take your tech game to the next level, I’d love to stay connected.
Let’s figure out how AI can work for you—whether you want to streamline tasks, create standout content, or unlock entirely new possibilities. I’m excited to keep sharing what’s possible and helping you on your journey.
