7. Do a Presentation
Get in front of as many people as you can to grow your agency. The more you put yourself out there, the more people will get to know you and your agency. Find places where you can speak like Chamber of Commerce and local events. You can also do online presentations in the form or webinars.
This is the in-person event that I did in front of local businesses with my sister Lorette. I spoke on stage to a group of small businesses, giving them my strategy for small businesses to gain more more customers doing social media marketing. After doing this event, the local businesses in the audience approached us and practically begged us to help them with their business. This was the launching point of when I opened my agency (completely unintentional). One presentation launched a business.
This is a virtual presentation with my sister Lorette and my friend Angie and Reyna from our team. We present in front of business owners, and entrepreneurs all the time and this is a great strategy for growing your agency. You can use Zoom or go live on your social media. Find an opportunity to get in front of a crowd and give valuable tips and strategies. They will see you as the “expert” and seek your help for their business.
Awards are tokens of appreciation for your hard work, it gives you credibility. It is an opportunity with both short-term and long-term potential to bring more customers, clients, and partnerships to your door.
Creative professionals are drawn to clients and businesses who have award-winning work and you have the advantage of being able to hire more of the finest talent in the world.
“Focus on getting some awards in your business and when you win an award, have a press release about it.”
We can't deny the power of Social Media. One you start to incorporate your business into your social media efforts, you will start to attract clients. Social media is a goldmine for potential business.
If you are not using social media to market your business you are missing out. You need to always be growing your social media platform – grow your friends, fans, and business page on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You will get so much free traffic to your business and interest or buy traffic on those networks to put traffic wherever you wanted to go.
Here’s my favorite post that has done well for me. But be careful what you put inside the parenthesis because that is what they focus on. Don’t put on more than three choices to avoid overwhelming your audience to make a decision.
Something like this is what you need to post across your social media platform and you’ll land some good results.
Here’s an example of a post made by my student.
“I posted today on my regular Facebook account –
List 1 thing your business needs (Website, Logo, SEO, Social Media Management, Etc.). I want to help you out!
From that post I've received over 20 responses, several websites, lots of Social Media Management, a request for $15,000 to buy a sander??? (yep, my friends are great), and a few logo requests.
I sold a logo this morning and have an appointment set for tomorrow morning for a website, 2 appointments for Wednesday for Social Media Management.
I haven't even finished putting up MY website yet, but I'm already getting client requests. Oh and tomorrow morning I'm interviewing a Social Media Manager as well.”
Facebook groups are a terrific way to bring your ideal audience together in one place. It assists you in getting new clients while expanding your business. It is extremely essential in digital agencies because it may be used as extra traffic or income route. As long as you add content value to your group members, it will result in increased engagement, leads, and sales.
Facebook groups organized people into one place that’s a community around a specific interest that they have.
This is an example of a Facebook group called “Women Helping Women Entrepreneurs”. If you're a woman and an entrepreneur you're going to resonate in the group, you’ll have to get in that. You'll see people will post things in there and they’ll give you an opportunity to engage with the community and promote your products and services.
A lot of times on Saturdays, I'll make a post in a group saying, “It's small business Saturday. Post a link to your business in the comments below.”
You're going to post a little snippet about your business and a link to it and you never know, people are going to those comments and they might see that you have something that they can benefit from and connect with you. it's also important for you to look in these posts and look at what other people do and see if there's an opportunity to connect with other people. You’re not just going to sell, but also connect and build relationships.

People do business with whom they are comfortable. A solid connection built on trust and communication contributes to the development of a working relationship, which is critical to a company's long-term success. Building a proper relationship can lead to opportunities and growth. Make sure the connection is more about the individual with whom you are communicating. Look for ways to assist them. Remember that in each business interaction, you must understand the value you bring to the people you wish to engage with and form business partnerships with.
Who would know that almost two decades later I’ll be working with Anik Singal, a great friend, and a great business partner. I met him 20 years ago at a conference I attended with Lorette. We have an amazing working relationship. He’s my largest JV partner who promotes my products.
Always build a good relationship and grow your network because you’ll never know who you meet today or what that could mean for your business down the road.
A good discussion is essential for making meaningful relationships. Keep your eyes and ears open for shared experiences and interests. Trying to find common ground will also help you develop common interests and have a more enjoyable conversation.
The key is to talk to more people. As you talk to more people and have more conversations that always results in more clients. Why? Because in your conversations, you deliver value, give suggestions, offer to help and clients will naturally come to you. You talk about your products, your services, your clients, and your testimonials, which equals more clients.
