Lakeisha loves being a freelancer and has been freelancing since 2018.
She can answer emails from the comfort of her bed – and make money at the same time!
In fact, Lakeisha is a full-time freelancer – or freedom-seeker, as I like to call it – and has been managing Facebook groups full-time for a little over a year now.
Lakeisha has a particular strategy that she goes by when managing Facebook groups.
To give you an idea of what she typically does on a daily basis, here’s a rundown of her week…
Every group has certain criteria that have to be met before entering the group and Lakeisha has to ensure these criteria are met before approving new members.
Some of these criteria include…
On average, Lakeisha spends only AN HOUR a day managing Facebook groups and getting all her responsibilities taken care of for each group.
Wouldn’t you love to spend just an hour working every day and still make as much money (or more) as you would at a typical 9-5 job?
In fact, before she started freelancing and managing Facebook groups, Lakeisha was a bookkeeper and also worked at a call center.
But now, as a Facebook group community manager, Lakeisha has a lot of free time.
The two main things that attracted her to this job were that it’s easy and doesn’t take up a lot of her time.
On top of that, she can get most of her work done right on her smartphone! So she can keep working even when she’s on the go.
In short, you have the flexibility to plan your day out based on what YOU want to do each week.
Who wouldn’t love that?
For example, if you’re going to make a post for each day of the week, you can set up everything on Sunday, so that you can focus on your other admin duties and have your posts already taken care of.
Most importantly, the freelancing lifestyle has allowed Lakeisha to spend more time with her family and provide them with a comfortable lifestyle.
What’s more – she’s free to spend her time doing what she wants to do because freelancing gives her so many options to live her life HER way.
You have the freedom to spend your time on the things you love and are interested in.
Not only that, Lakeisha and her husband were able to build a beautiful home for their family without the need to take out a loan…
That’s right – they built their dream home with money Lakeisha made freelancing online.
For Facebook group management, you can charge $100-$200 per week for each group that you manage.
The amount varies based on how much work you do for each group.
For instance, Lakeisha charges $800 per month for each client.
And if you're not sure how to find FB groups to manage, follow these steps:
Search for different Facebook groups based on the topics you’re interested in.
2. Reach out to the group owner/administrator and let them know you manage Facebook groups.
3. Look for groups that are poorly managed or filled with spam.
Lakeisha’s BIGGEST piece of advice for anyone who’s afraid to take that first step?
Join a popular FB group and look at what the admins are doing in the group.
Really pay attention to what the admins/moderators are doing to not only learn from them, but to boost your own confidence.
Admins in the group often make motivational posts that’ll help inspire you to take action!
You can even take a design course to learn how to create graphics for your posts to really make them POP.
Lakeisha also advises that you SHOULDN’T leave your full-time job when you’re FIRST starting out as a freelancer.
You should have at least three month’s-worth of income to supplement you when you’re just starting out because it might take a while for you to get clients.
You first have to build your online credibility before you can build a client base and this takes time.
Of course, you can even do this as a side hustle if you’re not ready to become a full-time freelancer…
It only takes Lakeisha about an hour each day, so if you still want to keep your 9-5 job and make extra income on the side, it’s totally DOABLE.
Additionally, as a full-time freelancer, Lakeisha also has the time to do…
But she assured me that Facebook group management is her favorite!
In fact, her goal is to ultimately have a total of 8 clients — meaning she wants to add 6 more to her current base of 2 clients.
It was a pleasure speaking to Lakeisha and getting the chance to hear how freelancing and being a FB group manager gave her the FREEDOM to live life on her own terms.
I hope that it inspired and motivated you to get out there and start your OWN freelancing or side hustle journey!
