Some experiences stay with you.
Last week, I led one of them.
At Georgia Tech, I ran the GA Tech TILE AI Certification Program. During this two-day, hands-on training, 14 students from the TILE (Technology Innovation and Learning Experience) program worked alongside three senior leaders from the Office of Student Achievement:
It wasn’t a student bootcamp or a leadership seminar. It was both. And that was the magic.
Alongside Denise Smith, Chief Innovation Officer at AI InnoVision, I guided the group through our AI Certification for Higher Education program. Not theory, slide decks, but real tools, real work, and real results.
Students participating in hands-on AI training at Georgia Tech’s TILE program, guided by Alicia Lyttle and Denise Smith, during the AI Certification for Higher Education experience—learning in a collaborative, peer-supported environment.
What we saw over those two days wasn’t just learning—it was a shift. In mindset, in momentum, and in how people across a campus can build something better, together.
This wasn’t a “watch and learn” setup. Everyone was fully involved—committed to doing the work, solving problems, and learning as they went.
Each participant—whether a student or staff member—came in with a real project or process they wanted to improve. Within hours, they were applying AI to make it better. And by the end? They’d built over 75 deliverables: pitch decks, marketing campaigns, websites, automations—you name it.
What stood out wasn’t just what they created. It was how they worked. Everyone in the room engaged equally. Students and senior staff asked questions, tested tools, shared feedback, and learned together.
This kind of shared learning environment builds more than skills. It builds clarity, trust, and momentum—and that’s what AI Certification for Higher Education should make possible.
Here’s what made this group powerful: the mix of perspectives.
Students brought bold ideas and a willingness to experiment. Staff brought experience, structure, and deep knowledge of how systems work behind the scenes.
And when those strengths came together? The results weren’t just creative—they were actionable. People weren’t just learning what AI could do. They were using it to solve problems that had been slowing them down for months.
This is what makes the format work. Different voices come together to solve the same challenge. It’s not about having perfect conditions—it’s about having the right mix of people who are ready to build and contribute.
We introduced six key platforms: ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity, HeyGen, and Gamma.
Not one tool was presented in theory. Every demo came with action. Every participant used what they learned to build something real and relevant to their role.
The impact?
The group walked away with dozens of AI-driven assets they created themselves—tools, not templates. But more importantly, they left knowing how to use what they built.
That’s what AI Certification for Higher Education should be about: building confidence through practical application.

After two days of watching students and senior leaders work through real challenges—with AI tools they’d just learned—here’s what I know:
The best AI transformation doesn’t come from tech. It comes from trust.
You don’t need a department-wide rollout plan before you start. You need one shared experience that builds confidence and gets people talking.
That’s what this program gave them. And it’s what we can build with you, too.
Let’s stop waiting for readiness and start creating momentum.
TILE cohort members at Georgia Tech proudly hold their certificates, celebrating their achievement after completing the GA Tech TILE AI Certification Program.
The GA Tech TILE AI Certification Program brought students and senior leaders into a shared certification experience powered by AI InnoVision. Over two days, the group produced over 75 real solutions, saw a 185% increase in AI confidence, and unlocked more than 200 hours of weekly time savings.
This is what AI Certification for Higher Education looks like when it’s built around collaboration, real work, and real results.
